Koh Samui island tour: Big Buddha, Na Muang & the Grandfather rocks
The trip, in short
Samui is small enough to circle in an afternoon, and the ring road strings the sights together neatly. Wat Phra Yai’s golden Big Buddha on its causeway island, Wat Khunaram’s mummified monk sitting upright in a glass case since 1973 with his sunglasses on, and the Hin Ta and Hin Yai rocks, which are unmistakably and hilariously anatomical.
Na Muang 1 is a five-minute walk from the road and swimmable. Na Muang 2 is a thirty-minute climb and worth it.
